Leading From Within: The Journey of Leslie Britt

Who is Leslie Britt?

Leslie Britt is a retired military officer, ordained minister, and executive coach dedicated to helping people unlock their full potential—personally, professionally, and spiritually. With over three decades of experience spanning military service, public leadership, and transformational coaching, he brings a rare blend of discipline, faith, and strategy to every life he touches. Based in Washington, D.C., Leslie is a husband, father, and servant leader who lives to empower others to rise.

The Calling Behind the Uniform

Before Leslie Britt ever stepped into a boardroom or stood behind a podium as a coach and mentor, he stood before something far greater: a calling. It wasn’t defined by medals, titles, or accolades—but by a deep-rooted desire to serve. Whether on the battlefield, in the pulpit, or across from a client in quiet self-discovery, Leslie’s journey has always been about one thing: helping others become who their future demands.

Growing up as the youngest of 13 children, Leslie was no stranger to complexity, responsibility, or challenge. That early life forged resilience in him—a quality that would become a foundation for the decades to come. From losing both parents, to serving 24 years in the U.S. Navy, to navigating personal and professional battles, Leslie developed the kind of leadership you can’t learn in books—it’s lived, tested, and earned.

Foundation: Service as a Way of Life

Leslie Britt’s story begins in the armed forces, where he served with distinction from 1983 to 2007. His Navy career wasn’t just defined by high-level technical responsibilities—it was shaped by moments of clarity, courage, and conviction. Whether managing communication operations during Operation Enduring Freedom or coordinating secure networks across global missions, Leslie operated at the intersection of precision and purpose.

He also pursued academic growth, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Studies from the University of Maryland University College. But it was never just about the degree. Education, for Leslie, was a form of empowerment—a tool to lead better, serve deeper, and think strategically.

Over the years, he took on increasingly complex leadership roles: from Programs Chief at DISA to Infrastructure Division Chief at the U.S. Courts. In each role, he exemplified operational excellence while never losing sight of what mattered most—people.

Ascent: From Technical Leader to Transformational Coach

After transitioning from military life, Leslie spent over a decade in civil service roles where he led large-scale infrastructure initiatives and teams across federal agencies. But deep down, a different mission was stirring—a mission that would take him beyond operations and into transformation.

In 2021, he launched Leslie Britt Enterprise, LLC, a leadership and executive coaching firm dedicated to helping others unlock the best version of themselves. His coaching model is rooted in three pillars:

Vision – Clarifying purpose, direction, and legacy
Mindset – Challenging limiting beliefs and building resilience
Strategy – Turning intention into action and measurable results

Through this framework, Leslie began guiding CEOs, entrepreneurs, ministry leaders, and young professionals alike. His secret? He doesn’t just teach strategies. He listens deeply, asks the right questions, and holds space for clarity to emerge.

As one client, Jeremiah Price, a philanthropist and former pro athlete, shared:

“Leslie helped me see that I already had the skills—I just had to believe in myself. He pushed me past my fears, held me accountable, and helped me understand that failure can be an option for growth. Since working with him, I’ve launched a growing business and gained the confidence to go after my goals sooner.”

Another client, Jervado Carrington, echoed the transformation:

“I had worked my way up from dishwasher to general manager, but never felt truly fulfilled. Coach Britt helped me break through mental barriers. This has been the best year of my career—I’ve set sales records, won awards, and grown spiritually.”

Whether working with seasoned executives or emerging leaders, Leslie Britt’s gift lies in igniting internal clarity that leads to external success.

Impact: Building Legacy Through Leadership

Leslie’s impact extends beyond coaching sessions and executive boardrooms. He serves as a WAVE Youth Leadership Ambassador, where he mentors young leaders through values-based character development. The organization’s mission to shape ethical, emotionally intelligent youth aligns perfectly with Leslie’s own belief in servant leadership.

His military, coaching, and community roles have all pointed to one truth: great leadership begins with self-leadership. And self-leadership requires honesty, humility, and help—all of which Leslie models.

Even in his technical roles with the U.S. Courts and Department of Defense, he championed human-centered leadership—creating spaces where collaboration, trust, and excellence thrived.

Former colleague Aamir Nooruddin described Leslie as:

“Extremely hardworking and intelligent. An asset to those who work for him and to executive leadership alike.”

In every sphere—military, ministry, public service, and coaching—Leslie has led from within, bringing clarity and courage to the people he serves.

The Vision Ahead: Guiding Others to Their Higher Calling

Today, Leslie resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife and child, continuing his life’s mission: to help others grow, lead, and create legacies that matter.

He doesn’t coach for applause or accolades. He coaches because he believes the world changes when leaders rise—when people embrace who they were created to be and act with purpose.

As Leslie often says:

“If you’re ready to grow, lead, and create a legacy that matters, I’m here to walk that journey with you.”

Through his coaching, faith, and service, Leslie Britt invites every client into something bigger than goals—he invites them into their future.
