Meet Sharon Sanders from the United Kingdom
Sharon Sanders is a dynamic leader dedicated to driving digital transformation with inclusion at its core. As the founder of S2Squared, she champions the power of people centered digital transformation to foster meaningful business change and tackle inequality. With her vast experience and passion for innovation, Sharon is paving the way for a future where everyone is brought along on the journey by putting people at the HEART of transformation.

From Curious Learner to Changemaker
Sharon Sanders’ journey began not with a grand plan, but with an insatiable curiosity and a drive to make a difference. Based in Yorkshire with clients across the country, her early academic path reflected her natural inclination to explore the intersection of technology, people, and systems. She studied Business, a foundation that would serve as the springboard for a remarkable career defined by transformation, innovation, and inclusion.
From the beginning, Sharon understood that technology was never just about delivering outcomes from its application ,it was about bringing people along on the journey. This perspective shaped her approach throughout her career and continues to influence her work today.
Early Career: From Operations to Digital Transformation
Sharon’s professional journey began in the private sector, where she rose to the level of Operations Director in the service industry, leading contact centre and shared service operations. With a strong track record supporting clients in outsourcing, housing, and financial services sectors, she eventually founded her own consultancy business to broaden her impact.
Believing that her skills could make a difference in the public sector, Sharon worked hard to earn opportunities in local government and healthcare. Once there, she began leading projects aimed at delivering savings and improving services for residents and their communities.
With each project, she deepened her insight into the human side of change. Sharon led transformation programs that bridged departments, improved efficiency, and, most importantly, put people first. Her ability to navigate complexity with clarity became her signature strength.
“Digital transformation isn’t just about technology—it’s about people, mindset, and change.”
Her work consistently reflected this belief. Operating through her own limited company, S2Squared, Sharon has taken on a range of senior interim roles across complex organisations. These positions have placed her firmly within senior leadership teams, where she has contributed strategic direction, led high-impact initiatives, and brought clarity and stability to fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
For Sharon, transformation was never just about efficiency or innovation. It was about putting people, and digital inclusion, at the heart of transformation
“Digital Inclusion cannot be a ‘nice to have’; it is essential to ensure equity in access to services for all”
This conviction drives her to champion initiatives that ensure everyone, not just the digitally savvy, can benefit from technological advancements.

S2Squared: A HEART-based consultancy
Today, S2Squared continues to support organisations in achieving meaningful digital transformation, with inclusion at its heart. Sharon realised that many organisations, regardless of their size or industry, often overlook the importance of people-centred approaches when adopting new technologies.
To address this gap, she applies her HEART framework :focusing on Human, Equitable, Adaptive, Real-time, and Tech-enabled strategies to ensure digitally inclusive transformation, which is also responsive to the pressures and opportunities of the present moment.
Her leadership style blends strategic acumen with empathy, seeing people not just as employees or users, but as whole individuals with unique strengths and needs.
“Leadership isn’t about commanding from the top—it’s about lifting others, bringing them along on the journey, and creating an environment where everyone thrives.”
This people-first approach has positioned her as a trusted advisor in organisations senior leadership teams navigating the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
A Voice for Health Sector
Sharon’s influence extends far beyond boardrooms. She is a prominent advocate for digital inclusion within the health sector. Her interest in this area is deeply personal, shaped by her husband’s experience with leukaemia and her growing awareness of how digital exclusion can compound inequalities in critical moments.
As a Health Equity Fellow and NHS Digital Ambassador, Sharon has contributed to important conversations about accessibility and innovation in healthcare. Her fellowship project focused on leveraging digital inclusion to improve health engagement across Primary Care Networks—an example of how she applies inclusive strategies to address real-world gaps.
“I put people at the heart of digital transformation, with digital inclusion a key driver to support equality. As we innovate with AI in all areas of life, we need to be just as bold about enabling those who are digitally excluded.”
Whether she’s addressing AI’s impact on women’s health or advocating for digital access in underserved communities, Sharon never loses sight of the bigger picture.

Today, Sharon Sanders stands at the forefront of digital transformation in the UK. Through her consultancy, public engagement, and policy advocacy, she is shaping a future where technology is an enabler to transformation and not simply the driver.
